Lubricant firm expands fleet to improve services
Aztec Oils has expanded its fleet in response to a surge in trade. Aztec Oils is now able to transfer 100,000 litres of lubricant a day after the company bought two 18-tonne tankers and a tractor unit.
The investment is part of a drive to improve services and control distribution by moving away from using third-party carriers. It further establishes the company as one of the UK’s leading specialists in high-performance lubricant manufacture and distribution. Having increased turnover by 18 per cent last year, Aztec is targeting 20 per cent growth in the current financial year and believes the fleet expansion will boost its prospects.
Mark Lord, managing director of the company, said:
“We’re taking control and improving our position. In addition to packed products, these new tankers will enable us to transfer 100,000 litres of lubricant a day. “We’ve enjoyed year-on-year growth and the demand for our products is continuing, so this is a natural next step for the business. “Investing in our fleet means we have more control over distribution, we can offer a better service, with regular drivers who better understand customer requirement, for example the pipework fittings are unique to each client.”
Having two tankers means that one can be ready and waiting for distribution when the tractor returns with the other empty one, having made a delivery. The tractor has a cabin enabling overnight stays and extending the distance the drivers can go. It comes as Aztec as close to completing a £1.2 million development project at the company’s flagship Bolsover site.
The new facility will increase storage capacity for pre-filled lubrication variants to well over 400,000 litres, resulting in super-efficient turnaround times. The range will cover a variety of applications. Managed stock controls will allow the company to service orders from inception to delivery in less than two days.
The company manufactures and distributes high-performance lubricants to a wide range of industrial sectors, including exporting to Pakistan, Iraq, Ghana and Ukraine. Aztec prides itself on being able to supply industrial lubricants for even the harshest environment.
